BC PNP Entry Level Semi-Skilled Worker

Program Overview: The Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker stream presents a pathway for individuals in specific occupations within the tourism/hospitality or food processing sectors to secure permanent residence in British Columbia (B.C.).

Eligibility Criteria: To become eligible for this stream, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Should Have accepted a full-time and indeterminate job offer from a B.C. employer in the tourism/hospitality or food processing sector.
  • Occupy is an occupation listed as eligible for the respective sector, with all ELSS-eligible occupations falling under NOC TEER four or five.
  • For the North-East Development Region of B.C., applicants in any NOC TEER category 4 or 5 occupations (excluding live-in caregivers - NOC 44100) can apply.
  • Have been working full-time for the same employer for a minimum of 9 consecutive months before applying.
  • Be qualified to perform the job, meeting any certification or registration requirements in B.C. Earn a wage in line with B.C. wage rates for the occupation.
  • Earn a wage in line with B.C. wage rates for the occupation.
  • Meet minimum language and education requirements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to support themselves and their dependents.
  • Possess legal immigration status in Canada.

Important Note: This stream does not offer the Express Entry BC option.

Occupations in Travel and Accommodation:

  • Hotel front desk clerks (NOC: 64314)

Tour and Recreational Guides and Casino Occupations:

  • Tour and travel guides (NOC: 64320)
  • Casino workers (NOC: 64321)
  • Outdoor sport and recreational guides (NOC: 64322)

Occupations in Food and Beverage Service:

  • MaĆ®tres d'hotel and hosts/hostesses (NOC: 64300)
  • Bartenders (NOC: 64301)
  • Food and beverage servers (NOC: 65200)
  • Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers, and related support occupations (NOC: 65201)

Cleaners (employed directly by hotels/resorts):

  • Support occupations in accommodation, travel, and facilities set-up services (NOC: 65210)
  • Light duty cleaners (NOC: 65310)
  • Specialized cleaners (NOC: 65311)
  • Janitors, caretakers, and heavy-duty cleaners (NOC: 65312)

Other Service Occupations (employed directly by hotels/resorts):

  • Dry cleaning, laundry, and related occupations (NOC: 65320)
  • Other service support occupations (NOC: 65329)

Note: For BC PNP purposes, a resort is an accommodation facility with recreational activities, including skiing, golfing, boating, fishing, biking, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, and nature-based or interpretive tours.
