- Should Have accepted a full-time and indeterminate job offer from a B.C. employer in the tourism/hospitality or food processing sector.
- Occupy is an occupation listed as eligible for the respective sector, with all ELSS-eligible occupations falling under NOC TEER four or five.
- For the North-East Development Region of B.C., applicants in any NOC TEER category 4 or 5 occupations (excluding live-in caregivers - NOC 44100) can apply.
- Have been working full-time for the same employer for a minimum of 9 consecutive months before applying.
- Be qualified to perform the job, meeting any certification or registration requirements in B.C.
Earn a wage in line with B.C. wage rates for the occupation.
- Earn a wage in line with B.C. wage rates for the occupation.
- Meet minimum language and education requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to support themselves and their dependents.

Cleaners (employed directly by hotels/resorts):
- Support occupations in accommodation, travel, and facilities set-up services (NOC: 65210)
- Light duty cleaners (NOC: 65310)
- Specialized cleaners (NOC: 65311)
- Janitors, caretakers, and heavy-duty cleaners (NOC: 65312)
Other Service Occupations (employed directly by hotels/resorts):
- Dry cleaning, laundry, and related occupations (NOC: 65320)
